Interfaith Witness
Upper Senate Park
Friday, March 7, 2:30 PM
Christians who are committed to peace, and to ending the war in Iraq, have two critical responsibilities. The first is to create an authentic, strong, Christian witness that makes clear our unequivocal and unyielding commitment to peace as followers of Jesus Christ. The second is to reach out across faith boundaries to make common cause with sisters and brothers of other traditions who share our commitment to peace. Since we gathered in the National Cathedral and at the White House in March of 2007, we have been strong partners in helping to create the Olive Branch Interfaith Peace Partners. This year, after we gather together for Christian worship in churches across Washington and around the country, those of us in Washington will gather together with many other faith traditions for the Interfaith Peace Witness at 2:30 p.m. in Upper Senate Park near the Capitol.Speakers
